v3.2.0(Ledger notes)
Ledger notes Current 11th September 2026New
-
Add a note to any ledger entry
Every entry in a monthly sheet can now carry a free-text note — what the expense was for, who paid, what to remember next month.
- Press the new note button on a row to write, edit or remove it in a clean text box (up to 2000 characters)
- Entries with a note show a small dot and a one-line preview under the item name; hover to read the whole text
- Add the note straight away when creating an entry with the Note pill next to the category, or later from Edit entry
- Removing a note asks for confirmation first
Improvements
-
A faster way to pick and manage categories
The category dialog is gone. Clicking a category — in a row or in the add form — opens a small picker right where you clicked.
- Type to search, use the arrow keys, press Enter to choose; No category is always at the top
- Each option shows its colour, icon, name and description, with a check mark on the current one
- Manage categories at the bottom opens the panel, or jumps straight to creating your first one
- Entries without a category show a dashed Category chip instead of a grey "None" badge — click it to assign one
- The categories panel is now a compact list instead of large cards, so you see all of them at a glance
-
Tidier monthly sheets
- Income and expenses no longer stretch to the same height; each card is as tall as its own entries
- The total sits right under the amounts, on the same edge, with a clear line above it
- The Amount header is right-aligned like the numbers below it
- Rows with a long item name wrap cleanly without their bottom line drifting
Changes
-
Updates show up without a hard reload
After a release, your browser now checks for fresh versions of the app's scripts and styles instead of reusing a cached copy, so a new feature never looks like it "does nothing".
Bug Fixes
-
Attachment counts no longer vanish
The little number on the paperclip disappeared as soon as you added, edited or deleted any entry on the sheet. Counts are now part of the sheet itself, so they stay put — and the page loads faster because they no longer need one request per row.
